A two row high yielding barley, very early ripening which is an important attribute for growers further north. A bold grain with the habit of surprising farmers with the weight of it when leaving the farm. Mountain is prone to rhynchosporium and needs good spray programme to get the best out of the variety. Very consistent variety like Carat.
