Forage Crops Technical Officer

We are currently seeking a full time Forage Crops Technical Officer to join our small, friendly, and dynamic team, based at our North Clifton site in North Nottinghamshire.

The Forage Crops Technical Officer will manage our UK maize trials and the role involves all aspects of field trials, from planning and sowing, crop monitoring and agronomy, harvesting and data management. They will help deliver excellence in our crop trials and demonstration areas which includes maize, forage, roots, grass and environmental stewardship species.

The role includes planning and execution of high-quality variety trials to support both the breeding and commercial teams in their activities.

• Candidates will be experienced in trials or R & D and will have a degree level qualification in an Agriculture, or a Science based subject.

• PA1, PA2, PA6 and practical farm experience would be beneficial, however training will be provided.

• Proven excellent IT skills – Microsoft Office applications and bespoke programmes and databases.

• Must be able to interpret data accurately with good attention to detail.

• Must be proactive, self-motivated and organised.

• Must be able to work to a high level of accuracy and organisation and have good communication skills.

• Full clean driving licence.

• Willingness to travel and stay overnight; mainly in the UK but also may involve some European travel.
