Following a degree at the University of Reading and a diploma from the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, Chester began his career as Arable Manager for a large estate in Wiltshire. He later gained his BASIS and FACTS qualifications before joining Syngenta, where he spent more than three years working alongside agronomists and farmers, providing technical support and practical solutions to on-farm challenges.
With hands-on farming experience and a strong technical background, Chester understands the importance of variety selection, crop genetics and seed quality in helping growers achieve profitable and resilient cropping systems. He is passionate about supporting farmers with practical, results-focused advice tailored to local conditions.
As part of Limagrain, one of Europe's leading plant breeding organisations, Nickerson offers a strong portfolio of varieties backed by active UK breeding programmes. Chester works closely with growers to help them get the most from these genetics, providing up-to-date varietal knowledge and technical support throughout the season.
